Frequently Asked Questions
Does the Mobile CPR class offer CPR certification?
Our program offers CPR education in a short, video-based, format that has been established by the American Heart Association. While effective to teach you how to save a life, it does not allow for formal certification.
Where can I get my CPR certification?
You can get certified by scheduling a class with any of the following organizations
American Red Cross 215-299-4000
American Heart Association 215-575-5200
EnjoyCPR 877-52-LEARN
How much does your class cost?
Our class is 100% FREE! However, you will not receive a certification upon completion. We teach you everything you need to know to save an adult experiencing cardiac arrest.
How do I schedule a class?
To schedule a class, please email themobilecprproject@uphs.upenn.edu or call us at (215)-746-4631.
How many people do you need for a class?
We aim for 10 people or more for each class. We generally cap the class at 30 people, but are willing to exceed that depending on the the location.
How old do you have to be to join the class?
How long does the class last?
Our classes are approximately 45 minutes each. We are glad to stay longer than 45 minutes to answer questions and make sure everyone is comfortable with what they have learned.
What days can I schedule?
Can I schedule more than once?
Absolutely!
What is the training like?
The training is an interactive class where we show an instructional video while ensuring each participant is using proper CPR technique. We place manikins on the ground to simulate someone who has undergone cardiac arrest. The class takes around 30-45 minutes.
Will The Mobile CPR Project come to fairs/block parties?
Most definitely! We love coming to fairs and educating the public! Ask us for more details.
Will we need tables?
We try to simulate an event where a person experiences cardiac arrest. Most of the time, they are on the ground. However, if you have a medical reason and can’t kneel easily, we will place the manikin on the table for you.
With fairs or block parties, we generally place the manikins on a table and do shorter educational sessions.
How far are you willing to travel?
Although we try to focus on areas in Philadelphia, we have traveled farther. Email us at themobilecprproject@uphs.upenn.edu or call us at (215)-746-4631 if you think distance may be an issue.
